Loosely based on the novel written by Stephen King, the Shining is the story of the Torrance family who is employed to take care of the Overlook Hotel during the cruel winter months. Jack, Wendy, and Danny Torrance are isolated due to the roads being impassable. Slowly, Jack is consumed by the evil spirit that surrounds the hotel that is built on an abandoned Indian burial site.

The Shining is one of the creepiest movies ever made and it still get’s under my skin. A big part of what makes this movie so scary is the incredible musical score by Wendy Carlos and Rachel Elkind.
