This is a remake of The Thing from Another World (1951) directed by John Carpenter. Norwegians discover a crashed alien spacecraft and the body of an extraterrestrial being during an Antarctic expedition. The alien takes the appearance of any biological form is comes into contact with and uses this ability to hide among the members of an American expedition team. The Thing can be anyone and it’s mission is to survive and multiply.

It’s one of the most visually stunning horror movies of all time featuring incredible makeup effects by Rob Bottin who was hospitalized for exhaustion from the extensive makeup effects work. But it also has the most amazing musical score by the incredibly talented composer, Ennio Morricone. It sets a dark and suspenseful mood that suits the movie perfectly.
